Nine Mile Beach
Nine Mile Beach consists of various beach break peaks, with the best peak often being at the northern end. This sandy beach break has powerful left and right-handers. Suitable for beginner to expert surfers. Picks up good swell and there is plenty of beach for everyone. Watch out for rips on bigger days, the one to the north end of the beach can be a good way to get out for experienced surfers.

Directions
From Westport, cross the Buller River heading south and turn right onto Cape Foulwind Road/State Highway 67A. Drive past Carters Beach and, at Cape Foulwind, turn left onto Tauranga Bay Road. Take Tauranga Bay Road all the way down to Tauranga Bay, turn left onto Seal Colony Road, then turn left onto Okari Road. This road turns to gravel. Drive along the beach front and find a good spot to park.
